    HABEMA Task Forces Bring Security and Hope to Susumuk Village through Aid Distribution

    PAPUA - Soldiers from the 501 Para Raider Infantry Battalion (501/Bajra Yudha Kostrad), operating under the Indonesian Armed Forces’ Operational Command HABEMA, undertook a combined mission of security and humanitarian outreach. Patrolling along the border between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, the troops stopped in Susumuk Village, Aifat District, to distribute essential supplies to local residents. On Tuesday, 22 October 2024.

    Under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Yakhya Wisnu Arianto, the patrol team meticulously prepared for the mission. Beyond their security duties, they aimed to engage directly with villagers to gain insights into the area’s situation. Residents warmly welcomed the soldiers, seizing the chance to meet and speak with them in person.


    The mission was not just about delivering aid but also about building trust and camaraderie between the military and the local community. The soldiers' presence brought joy and hope, with broad smiles lighting up the faces of the residents as they received packages containing basic necessities.

    One of the recipients, Mr. Antonius Tabuni, expressed his heartfelt gratitude:
    "Praise God, thank you, Commander 501, for the packages. God bless."

    These simple acts of kindness demonstrated the soldiers’ dedication to improving the quality of life for Papua’s remote communities, strengthening not only security but also mutual trust.


    The mission’s success drew commendation from Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, Commanding General of HABEMA. “The 501 Task Forces’ initiative showcases TNI's commitment to not only safeguarding the region but also supporting the basic needs of the people. This is part of our larger mission to accelerate development in Papua, ” he stated.

    General Lucky's words highlight the importance of these humanitarian efforts, which complement military operations in the region. TNI's approach combines professionalism with compassion, ensuring security while nurturing hope and optimism for a brighter future in Papua.
