Strengthening Bonds: Task Force 509 Brings Hope and Harmony to Mamba Village

INTAN JAYA - In a heartfelt initiative to nurture trust and unity, the Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad Task Forces of the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) carried out a meaningful Social Communication (Komsos) activity with residents of Mamba Village, Sugapa District, Intan Jaya Regency, Papua Tengah Province, on Friday, November 29, 2024. This engagement took place as part of their border security operations between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea under the command of HABEMA Operational Command.

Led by First Lieutenant Wanianto, soldiers from the Holomama Post paused their area protection duties to connect with the local community. The interaction, filled with warmth and goodwill, not only highlighted the security situation in Mamba Village, which residents described as safe and peaceful, but also showcased TNI's commitment to the well-being of the people.

Touching Lives, Building Trust

The Task Forces demonstrated their dedication to fostering goodwill by distributing food packages to the villagers. One resident, Mama Marta Tabuni, expressed her gratitude with heartfelt words: “Thank you, Commander 509. God bless.” Her response reflected the deep appreciation of the local community for TNI’s care and concern.

This effort aligns with the TNI’s mission to bridge the gap between the military and the public, ensuring that their presence is not just seen as guardians of peace but also as partners in progress.

Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, Commander of the 509 Task Forces, emphasized the importance of addressing the basic needs of the surrounding communities. “Our duty extends beyond security. It’s about understanding, engaging, and supporting the people we serve, ” he said, highlighting the holistic approach of his unit.

Acknowledging their efforts, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, Commanding General of HABEMA, praised the initiative. "Task Force 509 exemplifies the TNI's commitment to inclusive and responsive engagement, building trust with the community to accelerate development in Papua, " he remarked.
